From the Juror, Amy Hollan:
Best in Show winner, Downtown Bank Front by Leon Valdez, is a delightful study in complementary pastels as the work invites the viewer to take a late evening stroll and admire the architecture during the magic hour when the sunset casts a warm, welcoming glow. This feel-good work showcases STCEA’s mission to pursue good in the world through art, as 20% of the show’s proceeds benefit Habitat for Humanity of Chautauqua County.
Award of Distinction winners for their creativity and artistic merit include the stirring and thought provoking sculpture Moving Ahead by Gregory Henden and the evocative analog collage Liminal Spaces by Taryn Chase Jackson.
